Two Islands, Two Conservation Success Stories

This week on Hard Truths of Conservation, Dan Cabela makes his way to Vancouver Island in pursuit of blacktail deer. Establishing themselves just after the last Ice Age, the blacktail of Vancouver Island offers an important genetic population isolated from the mainland. While on the island, Dan explores the local’s relationship with the species, its history, and conservation.

From there, Dan travels to New Zealand to peel back the layers on a conservation issue involving introduced species, which has garnered global attention.
